Book Talk & Signing – William Daniel, Portrait of an Icon

On Sunday October 1, The AAASC Arts & Literature Committee is pleased to present a talk on Rabi William Daniel’s biography authored by Dr. Arianne Ishaya. The program will also include excerpts from the book that chronicles the life of this beloved Assyrian author, poet, musician and composer.

Dr. Robert Paulissian, editor-in-chief of the Journal of Assyrian Academic Studies, will join Dr. Ishaya to speak of his memories and work with Rabi William Daniel in Iran as well as in the United States.

Sunday October 1, 2017
6:00pm at the Association – 5901 Cahuenga Blvd, N.Hollywood

Free Admission. Appetizers, Pastries, Wine and Refreshments will be served.

Dr. Arianne Ishaya received her Ph.D. in Cultural Anthropology from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). She is a professor of anthropology at De Anza College and has written several publications, including most recently Familiar Faces in Unfamiliar Places.

On October 1, we held a book talk and signing on Dr. Arianne Ishaya’s biography of William Daniel entitled “William Daniel: Portrait of an Assyrian Icon”.
Thank You to everyone for coming out to an insightful talk. At the end of the evening, her brother Dr Ashor Moradkhan received a special award from members of his language class that he taught at the Association in the 1990s.
