How long have you been in your profession?
I have been in my profession for 31 years. I opened my salon in October 1991
What do you love most about what you do?
What I love most about my job is building personal connections with all of my clients. Helping them through life’s struggles and celebrating their successes. My job is about helping men and women find their beauty and to feel good inside and out.
What is your biggest accomplishment so far?
My biggest accomplishment is owning the salon for 30 years and creating a healthy and successful work environment. It is a blessing knowing that I have had the same clients come in and out of my salon since for 30 years.
How do you define success?
I define success by making my clients happy, having strong communication, and building enough trust for them to want to come back and enjoy their time at my salon.
When you're not working, how do you enjoy spending your time?
When I am not working, I enjoy spending my time working out. I play soccer, I do hot yoga almost every day, and most of all, spending time with my family.
What advice would you give someone who is looking to get into this field?
Be patient, honest, and always continue your education to learn the newest hair techniques and styles. It is important to always stay up to date.
What is a fun fact about yourself?
When I left Iraq, and before coming to California, I lived in Italy for almost 3 years.
